Udi's: Bread Heaven

Just this past week Gluten Free Specialty started carrying an amazing new bread:Udi's. It comes in multi-grain and white sandwich varieties, and both are amazing! It's gluten free, dairy free, soy free, and nut free. If you're allergic to corn, which some of us are, there is cornstarch in this product. However for the rest of us, this bread is safe, and makes a great sandwich.

My husband, affectionately known as tech support, convinced me it would be a good idea to start video reviewing products online, so we've started a blog entitled Gluten-Free TV. However while we work on getting the review posted there, you can currently view it here. (It will start to play automatically).

Debbie and Mike,

Thanks for the fun, informative review of Udi's Gluten Free bread. I love your approach. It's a nice balance between solid facts and valuable opinion. Udi's is honored to be chosen to be the first on your soon to be famous show!

I'd like to get all the products out to you for review. We're just moving into Northern California and would like to let everyone know they can start eating great gluten free bread, right from the store!

I've been a Celiac for 17 years and contacted Udi's after trying their wonderful bread. I'm now working for them spreading the good news!

Udi's can be ordered by anyone thru our high touch, low tech process of emailing Cynthia at GlutenFree@UdisFood.com. We're working to automate the system. Cynthia will send out ordering info.

Breads and Pizza Crust are $5 and Muffins and Cinnamon Rolls are $6. FedEx 2 Day Air shipping from Denver will be added.

We are also working to add the list of stores carrying Udi's gluten free products. It is currently not on the website. People can contact me or Cynthia for details of stores in their area carrying Udi's.

Many specialty stores around the country have products and can easily obtain them. We also have several large chains in a variety of states including Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, Minnesota, Northern California and Texas.

In addition to having your viewers order directly from Udi's, and going to the stores who currently carry some of our products, we want people to ask for the products at their grocery and specialty stores. Celiacs no longer have to pay outrageous prices for inferior products. Many buyers think that they are doing all they need to by having a freezer case full of gluten free products, regardless of how good they are. Most buyers don’t eat gluten free so we can make their jobs easier by asking for great products and encouraging them to drop terrible products taking up space in the freezer case. We're encouraging everyone to speak up and ask for great products in grocery stores and restaurants everywhere. It will help the newly diagnosed walk a less rocky path!

Udi’s also has four cafes in the Denver area that will soon have a gluten free menu so next time you’re out this way…

I'm excited to have you try the other Udi's products!

Nice Work!!!

This was great! Very informative and positive, However, I can't see the writing on the package and on your shirt because it all reads backwards! I want a BLT! Maybe we can encourage them to make a corn free batch eventually. I can really hear the crunching too..the chips were like a Vlasic Pickle commercial. The bread looks so great I wish I could have some.

Great Job you two!

Yeah, so we're new to this videocasting thing... I set the monitor up to be in Mirror mode so it didn't look weird to us as we were recording... little did I know that it was RECORDING that way! Oh well, so swell. We weren't going to do the review over again because it would ruin the authenticity. These are the lessons we'll take with us for next time. Thanks for the feedback!
