Christmas, Asian Style

Every Sunday my husband and I walk to the local farmer's market and we pass a Chinese food restaurant that smells divine. We spoke recently of how we miss Chinese take out and how we should go buy some take-out containers and make up some of our favorite dishes ourselves. Welp, that's exactly what we did, but since multiple entrees is quite a bit of food for just two, we decided it must be a special occasion, and so instead of ham, we had an Asian Christmas.

Our Menu:
Sweet & Sour Chicken
Kung Pao Pork
Pad Thai with Shrimp
Fried Rice
Coconut Ice Cream

We used The Gluten Free Asian Kitchen as our instructional guide for the evening. All the entrees turned out well and the Kung Pao Pork was absolutely amazing.
We had previously made the Pad Thai with shrimp and it was more delicious than the first time.
As for her coconut ice cream recipe,it did not turn out right. We did everything we were supposed to, but it just tasted like sweet eggs and ended up pitching it. Overall, the meal was delicious, and it was ok about the ice cream, because I had a backup plan.  Don't most gluten free folks have one when it comes to serving a big meal? :-)
