New Baked Nut Chips

Blue Diamond makes almond milks, nut crackers, nut mixers, and now nut chips! Recently they introduced baked nut chips made from brown rice and almonds. They come in a few flavors- nacho, sea salt - and I grabbed the sour cream and onion. As long as you don't have a nut allergy, these would work for people with a gluten or a corn allergy, and the plain sea salt would be acceptable for people with a dairy allergy.

They are sold in an interesting bag size-4.25 for about $3.00, at least that's what I paid at a local health food store. The size is interesting because if you don't watch yourself you'll easily eat the entire bag and not necessarily feel like you ate too much, that is until you read the nutritional information and find out there are four servings in the bag. I understand the high calorie count as they're made with almonds, but I'd prefer a smaller size, because seriously once you open the bag you're going to eat them all; maybe a single serving bag?

As for taste and texture, they're like a thinner version of their nut crackers, with a powdery flavoring; they sort of remind me of crunchmaster crackers, if you've ever had those. They are super crunchy, but I like them. You be the judge; pick up a bag next time you're at the store.
