Bean Dip

Any social gathering is not complete without chips and dip.  For those of us gluten free folks, dips can be scary. Sour cream or cream cheese based, the average person might wonder why dip wouldn't be safe, but it's the packets of powder mixed in that can be a Celiac's worse nightmare. I tend to just make my own dip with fresh herbs, but sometimes you want to switch it up.  Urban Accents makes a lot of different spice related items from grilling rubs to dip mixes, with a bunch of things in-between. Not everything is gluten free, but they do indicate which are on the package and on their website.

I tried out the black bean chipotle dip mix for the 4th of July weekend and it seems to be a hit. Two cans black beans, a lime, maybe some fresh cilantro, although not a requirement, the seasoning packet, and a blender- that's it. Much easier to make then 7 layer dip, and equally as good.
