Doodles Cookies

Every area of the country has different gluten free products to offer. Based out of Illinois is Doodles Cookies, a gluten free cookie mix company, started by a woman who just liked to bake. This mix uses some slightly more healthy flour options. The majority of cake and cookie mixes have white rice flour and potato starch in them, but these do not. The company offers chocolate chip cookie, nut butter cookie, and sugar cookie mixes. Doodles uses oat flour and brown rice flour, which I think give these cookies a nice textural blend.

The company shipped me a sample of all of their mixes, and so far I have made the chocolate chip cookies. I found the mix easy to work with, although I little thick. I will say the picture on the box is deceiving, as it dos not make flat, mostly smooth cookies, but clumpy cookies. Regardless of looks, I would compare them to Chips Ahoy. They're not a super soft cookie, but a slightly firmer, slightly crumbly cookie that would be good for dunking in a glass of milk. Also, they remained consistent in moisture level from the day I baked them to a week later, which is generally impressive, as most gluten free baked goods dry out after 2 or 3 days.

In the winter I like to dunk. These look good. I hope Fraizer Farms will carry them.

These really make me want to make a batch of chocolate chip cookies and pour a glass of milk.
