As an Oli's Products founder I participated in Craftoberfest this past Saturday and despite the strong gusts we experienced throughout the day, we had a prime spot right along J street downtown, and in the end Craftoberfest was a success! Both our food lines and our craft items were big hits, and there were no causalities from the weather war.
After being really cold for the majority of the day we packed things up and headed over to one of our favorite spots, Mikuni's, for some sushi afterward, as we had been working so hard that we barely had time to run across the street to the restroom, or to even eat lunch.
We continued to expose ourselves to the weather on Sunday and headed up to Apple Hill, to buy some apple cider, check out some vendors, and of course no trip is complete without a stop at the Fudge Factory, (with flavors like pumpkin pie, apple cider, raspberry swirl, I mean who can resist?) There was a high of 60 degrees today up there but you wouldn't really know as all the walking up and down hills kept the blood pumping. By far High Hill and Boa Vista were the hop. If you're looking for a nice drive and trip into the country you should try and go up to the Apple Hill area between now and Christmas. I know we'll be going back in December to cut down our Xmas tree and of course, buy more fudge.
And now I have a slight tickle in my throat...oh dear.

I am so jealous that you guys made it up there this weekend. We wanted to go but alas, I am sick...and when the Mommy is sick the whole family suffers!
Oh, yummy!I love really fresh apple cider. If I remember right these are great apple ranches to go to. I love all the pies up there too but I prefer to make my own. Fudge sounds wonderful. We may have to develop some that's GF, milk free, and corn free for us "special celiac's".I love the fall, it's my favorite time of the year.
