Stores like Safeway will make you think you're saving more if you buy more- they now do individual pricing, and if you buy 5 pricing- but really it's places like the Grocery Outlet, and the 99 cent store that truly offer the deals. It's like searching for the right pair of shoes or purse at a thrift store: it takes time and patience, but it can be done.
This week my top find was at a local Grocery Outlet. Not every location carries the same items, but I happened to stumble upon two great saving opportunities. The first, Philly Cooking Creme. A new product from Kraft Foods, meant to be used as a pasta sauce or in casseroles. I've seen it at Safeway for $2.99 but at the grocery outlet it was just $0.99. To top it off, currently Kraft is offering a $0.75 off coupon for said product, which makes this sauce just a quarter per container!
My second find, Marie's salad dressing company. Their ranch is- hands down- my favorite ranch dressing. It retails for $4.99 for the 12 OZ container; now the store didn't have the ranch, but it did have some other tasty flavors (FYI-not all are gluten free) for just $0.99. With the coupon from the company website of buy 2 save $1.25 I walked out the door with 2 bottles of salad dressing for $0.75!
